Mission Council

Current members are posted in the Narthex, along with meeting minutes. Terms are typically 2 years, with some being 1 year. Members are elected at the May Congregational Meeting. Those interested in serving on the Mission Council should speak with the Council President or Pastor.

The Discipleship Team emphasizes the "Marks of Discipleship", which include: Pray daily, Worship weekly, Read the Bible daily, Serve others, Relate with one another, and share the Gospel and Give of our time, talents and treasures. Our team encourages these practices through a scripture-based stewardship program, prayer partners, and a congregational devotion booklet. Chairperson is Troy Absher (865-767-3341).

Property Team

This team works to maintain and improve the church, contents and grounds.
Youth Mission Team

The Youth Mission Team is for youth in 6th grade and up. Check out the calendar for current meeting dates and events! For more information contact Amy Keesee, Alan Anderson or Dave Sweany.

Fellowship & Recreation

The Fellowship and Recreation Committee provides opportunities for all of us to get together, to get to know each other, have fun and become recreated. If you are interested or have any ideas of what programs we can provide or what we can do for recreation, contact Theron Conklin.

Mutual Ministry

Mutual Ministry is a team that works as a partner with the congregation and Pastor. Those interested should speak with the Council President or Pastor.
Peer Ministry

Peer Ministry is a committee for the members of Good Shepherd. Our responsibilities are Member Care. If you would like to help on this committee or need assistance please contact Sandy Kubis.
Christian Education

Chooses classes and curriculum to be presented to all age groups of the congregation. Also responsible for the VBS program. Karen Holweg is the team leader for Christian Education. Team members are Sandy Kubis, Sue and Jim Whiting, Karoline Novilla and Amy Keesee.

Deborah Circle

Meets every second Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am, except June, July and August.

Men’s Group

Meets every second Wednesday of the month at 9:30 am
Worship & Music

For info on Worship Leaders, Altar Guild, music selection, church flowers, Communion set up, worship supplies, or special services contact the church office.

Outreach is the umbrella committee for food pantry, Pumpkin Patch and the community dinner as well as other things done with and for people of the community who are not members. This includes invitations to people to join us in worship and fellowship.

Quilting Group

We have a very active quilting group which has made quilts for homeless people as well as sick members and friends, military.
Women's Group

We also have a women’s group that meets for Bible Study, spiritual nurture and Christian fellowship.

Emergency Food Pantry

We have an emergency food pantry with which to serve our community. Lively worship and fellowship and adult learning opportunities.
Community Dinner

We have a community dinner on the second Wed of every month. The dinner is from 4-6 and free. Donations are cheerfully accepted.

Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin patch happens each fall and monies are donated to an area community service agency.
Peerage Committee

Our Peerage committee works with members and friends of the congregation sending cards, running receptions and delivery of food to the ill if necessary.

Worship & Education

The Worship and Education committee makes sure everything for worship is taken care of and finds leaders and programs for education opportunities.
